SearchMyAdmission.com is an education guidance platform operated from India. Our platform helps students discover college options, understand counselling cut-offs, and make informed admission decisions through free tools and counsellor support.
We are the data controller responsible for any personal information you share with us through this website.
What information we collect
We collect information in two ways — information you provide directly and information collected automatically.
Information you give us:
- Name and contact details (phone number, email address) when you fill our enquiry or “Apply Now” form
- Academic details such as your exam name, rank, category, and preferred course when using our college predictor tools
- Any additional information you voluntarily share during a counselling conversation via WhatsApp or phone
Information collected automatically:
- Standard web log data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on pages
- Cookie and analytics data (see Section 4 for details)
- Referral source — how you arrived at our website (search engine, social media, direct)
How we use your information
We use the information we collect strictly for the purposes described below:
- To operate and improve our college predictor tools and counselling services
- To respond to your enquiries and provide personalised admission guidance
- To send you relevant updates about counselling dates, cut-offs, or new tools (only if you opt in)
- To analyse usage patterns and improve the quality of content on the platform
- To comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not receive referral fees or commissions from colleges, universities, or coaching institutes in exchange for your contact details.
Cookies and tracking
Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to improve your experience and help us understand how visitors use the platform.
Types of cookies we use:
- Essential cookies — required for the website to function (e.g., remembering your predictor inputs during a session)
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics, used to understand page traffic and user behaviour in aggregate. No personally identifiable information is shared with Google.
- Functionality cookies — remember your preferences (e.g., selected exam or category) to reduce repeat inputs
You can disable cookies through your browser settings at any time. Disabling analytics or functionality cookies will not affect your access to our tools.
Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the platform. These services may process limited data on our behalf:
- Google Analytics — aggregated website traffic analysis
- WordPress.com / hosting provider — website infrastructure
- WhatsApp Business — communication channel if you choose to contact us via WhatsApp. WhatsApp’s own privacy policy applies to messages sent through that channel.
- Email service provider — for sending responses to enquiry form submissions
We do not integrate advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or data brokers into our website.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored on servers located in India or in jurisdictions with adequate data protection standards. We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
Enquiry form data is retained for up to 12 months from the date of submission, after which it is deleted unless you have an ongoing counselling relationship with us. Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google Analytics’ standard retention policy.
We do not retain your data longer than necessary. If you would like your information deleted sooner, email us at info@searchmyadmission.com and we will action it within 7 business days.
Your rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data. To exercise any of these, contact us at the email address at the bottom of this page.
Request a copy of any personal information we hold about you.
Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
Request that we delete your personal data from our systems.
Unsubscribe from any communications we send you at any time.

Children and minors
Our platform is intended for students who are at least 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without verifiable parental or guardian consent.
