What is Chemical Engineer?
A chemical engineer applies chemistry, physics and mathematics to design processes that convert raw materials into useful products — fuels, medicines, fertilisers, polymers, food and beverages. India has one of the world's largest chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors. Chemical engineers work in refineries, fertiliser plants, pharmaceutical companies, paint manufacturers, food processing units and environmental consulting firms. It bridges laboratory chemistry with large-scale industrial production.
