What is Civil Engineer?
A civil engineer designs and oversees the construction of infrastructure — roads, bridges, dams, buildings, tunnels and water supply systems. In India, civil engineering is central to the government's massive infrastructure push — highways, smart cities, metro rail networks and Jal Jeevan Mission. Civil engineers work in construction companies, government agencies like NHAI and PWD, consulting firms, real estate developers and infrastructure PSUs. It is one of the oldest and most in-demand engineering disciplines in India.
