Jamia Hamdard, a renowned “Deemed to be University” located in New Delhi, traces its origins to a small Unani clinic founded in 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, and was formally established in 1963 as Hamdard Tibbi College. In 1989, it attained deemed university status, inaugurated by then-Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The institution has grown into a multidisciplinary hub committed to excellence in health sciences, management, humanities, and now digital education through its online learning and ODL programs.
