What is Renewable Energy Engineer?
A renewable energy engineer designs, develops and maintains clean energy systems — solar farms, wind turbines, hydroelectric plants and battery storage systems. India's ambition to achieve 500GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 has made this one of the fastest-growing engineering disciplines in the country. Renewable energy engineers work at solar developers like Adani Green and Tata Power Solar, wind companies like Suzlon and Inox Wind, and government agencies like SECI and MNRE.
Is this right for you?
For PCM students with electrical or mechanical engineering background who are passionate about India's clean energy transition. If you want an engineering career with clear social and environmental impact, renewable energy is deeply motivating. Site work is significant — many roles involve travel to project sites in remote locations like Rajasthan, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.
